The Lower Cost Prescription Drug Alternative

Saturday Mar 20, 2010

Today in the United States, there are hundreds of thousands of people who do not have and cannot afford adequate health care coverage. Sadly, many must pay out of pocket for medical treatment of any kind, not to mention much needed prescriptions. These expenses can add up quickly and are usually very costly. Consumers often find themselves cutting back on other expenses, in order to pay for medical procedures and medication. Oftentimes they are forced to go without.

Fortunately, the Internet now makes it possible for many uninsured consumers to obtain medicines by way of discount prescription drug purchases. Yes, consumers are now able to buy prescription drugs, online, safely and quite easily.

For those living within close proximity to Mexico it is becoming more and more commonplace to purchase prescription drugs online, via a Mexican pharmacy. Prices are notably less than what is charged at, both, American and Canadian pharmacies. (It is possible to obtain some medications WITHOUT a prescription.)

American’s are prohibited from ordering a prescription drug online and requesting that it be shipped across the border, as it is highly illegal. Instead, they must travel to Mexico to make the purchase, carrying it back across the border themselves.

Most Mexican pharmacies carry generic and name brand medications. These medications are clearly marked and typically cost $10-$15 less, per prescription, than a non-Mexican pharmacy charges. That savings can really add up, especially over a long period of time.

There are actually two “classes” of Mexican pharmacies. There are those who are allowed to dispense controlled substances and those who are not. Controlled substances such as Valium and steroids require a doctor written prescription stating the patient is allow to purchase the drug, in Mexico.

If you plug the search term “buy prescription drugs online” into your favorite search engine, you will be presented with thousands of link choices. Visit as many of these sites as time permits. Do your research. Call each information/customer service number provided. (These are usually toll-free numbers.) Ask questions and compare prices.

When you order discount prescription drugs from an online pharmacy, not only are you saving money, you are granted the convenience of shopping at home.

Many uninsured consumers find that online pharmacies are the difference between filling a prescription and going without it. Not only do they save money, they find themselves jumping back onto the road to recovery, sooner than they imagined.

Lunesta For Insomnia: A Guide To Compare Generic Lunesta ( Eszopiclone )

Tuesday Feb 23, 2010

We all know that there’s no such thing as cheap Lunesta, but if you’d like to save money without sacrificing quality, you may want to buy Eszopiclone instead. Eszopiclone is the generic version of Lunesta, the only prescription sleep aid approved for long term use.

When compared with the other prescription sleep aids, Eszopiclone is the best buy if you’re looking for a way to just finally get a good night’s sleep without waking up drowsy and dysfunctional. When you begin taking Eszopiclone, you’ll enjoy another huge benefit: Unlike other sleep aids, Eszopiclone is the only one approved for long term use. That means you can enjoy months to years of better sleep, rather than just a few days.

When looking for the sleep aid medication with the best overall value, Eszopiclone is an obvious choice. But what’s the best choice when it’s time to buy Eszopiclone online at an internet pharmacy?

Many people just look for the lowest prices on their sleep medications, and they end up being ripped off. Some get the wrong pills, and some receive impure medication that doesn’t work. But others never even get their order in the mail. In many markets, such as the car market, the saying that “you get what you pay for” doesn’t really apply. But this saying is definitely true when we shop for prescription medications online.

We have taken it upon ourselves to research every online pharmacy we can find, and in most cases, the news isn’t good. Many end up linking back one processing company, and only some of them are legitimate. In the interest of breathing some real life into the online pharmacy industry, we have compiled our research into a “best buys” website.

Canadian Pharmacy – Your Reliable and Affordable Health Portal

Saturday Feb 20, 2010

In the last few years, Canadian Pharmacy has carved a niche for itself in the market. The ease of availability and affordable rates of Canadian pharmacy drugs have lured many US customers to Canadian Pharmacies. More than 50 million US citizens have insufficient medical cover. In the US, prescription medication costs are much higher than most of the countries; it often becomes unaffordable in spite of the medical coverage. Hence, Canadian pharmacies have emerged as the only preferred destination for prescription drugs.

Most of these pharmacy firms are based in Western Canada and the industry provides bread and butter to more than 7000 people. While these statistics may not be overwhelming, but the number of customers it takes care of is quite significant. These online drug stores serve an estimated 2 million patients in the US, which includes US citizens without any insurance.

However, patients purchasing drugs from Canada may not get the same drug brands as they get in US. It might even happen that an US citizen finds a generic drug that is only used in Canada. In such cases, it is preferable to use FDA approved generic drugs in US. Besides, there have been shortages in Canada itself owing to the illegal cross-border drug business.

Bulk import of Canadian drugs is against the US policy. But the government generally does not prosecute people purchasing drugs for personal consumption in small quantities.

The probability of US drug prices matching their Canadian counterpart is very low and it appears that Canadian Drug Pharmacy will flourish in the US in near future. It is to be kept in mind that Canadian pharmacy drugs are not FDA approved but have standards similar to FDA. Thus, it is always better to consult an expert who knows more about Canadian pharmacies.

As a concluding suggestion- Canadian pharmacy drugs are cheap, but it is advisable to do some research work before purchasing your drugs online. Factors like cost of drugs, cost of delivery, quality of drug etc. need to be examined before ordering a drug.

Types of E-Commerce

Monday Feb 8, 2010

E-commerce is the use of Internet and the web to transact business but when we focus on digitally enabled commercial transactions between and among organizations and individuals involving information systems under the control of the firm it takes the form of e-business. Nowadays, ‘e’ is gaining momentum and most of the things if not everything is getting digitally enabled. Thus, it becomes very important to clearly draw the line between different types of commerce or business integrated with the ‘e’ factor.

There are mainly five types of e-commerce models:

1. Business to Consumer (B2C) – As the name suggests, it is the model involving businesses and consumers. This is the most common e-commerce segment. In this model, online businesses sell to individual consumers. When B2C started, it had a small share in the market but after 1995 its growth was exponential. The basic concept behind this type is that the online retailers and marketers can sell their products to the online consumer by using crystal clear data which is made available via various online marketing tools. E.g. An online pharmacy giving free medical consultation and selling medicines to patients is following B2C model.

2. Business to Business (B2B) – It is the largest form of e-commerce involving business of trillions of dollars. In this form, the buyers and sellers are both business entities and do not involve an individual consumer. It is like the manufacturer supplying goods to the retailer or wholesaler. E.g. Dell sells computers and other related accessories online but it is does not manufacture all those products. So, in order to sell those products, it first purchases them from different businesses i.e. the manufacturers of those products.

3. Consumer to Consumer (C2C) – It facilitates the online transaction of goods or services between two people. Though there is no visible intermediary involved but the parties cannot carry out the transactions without the platform which is provided by the online market maker such as eBay.

4. Peer to Peer (P2P) – Though it is an e-commerce model but it is more than that. It is a technology in itself which helps people to directly share computer files and computer resources without having to go through a central web server. To use this, both sides need to install the required software so that they can communicate on the common platform. This type of e-commerce has quite low revenue generation as from the beginning it has been inclined to the free usage due to which it sometimes got entangled in cyber laws.

5. m-Commerce – It refers to the use of mobile devices for conducting the transactions. The mobile device holders can contact each other and can conduct the business. Even the web design and development companies optimize the websites to be viewed correctly on mobile devices.

There are other types of e-commerce business models too like Business to Employee (B2E), Government to Business (G2B) and Government to Citizen (G2C) but in essence they are similar to the above mentioned types. Moreover, it is not necessary that these models are dedicatedly followed in all the online business types. It may be the case that a business is using all the models or only one of them or some of them as per its needs.

Internet Security – Spotting Fake Online Drugstores

Tuesday Feb 2, 2010

From the time the first virus was hatched on the Internet, we’ve always known it to be a virtual existence that made our computers “sick.” With illegal online pharmacies, a biological dimension to the word might not be too remote. Illegal online pharmacies have been sprouting everywhere and while their counterfeit or expired drugs don’t necessarily carry biological contaminants, the possibility that they do is very high. For this reason, it is important to ensure that the online pharmacy you look to buy from is legal.

Determining whether or not an online pharmacy is legit may not be that easy. Anybody can put up a site and make it look honest and professional but there is simply no way of telling except through awareness. From this, one will have a greater chance of buying from a good source.

An online drugstore conducts its business through the Internet but that’s not to say it won’t have a physical location. If it’s legal, it will need a place in which to stock its products and perform its office functions. Look for an address and contact information within the website and make sure the business is located in the United States and, therefore, subject to government regulation. The better if they have a toll-free number that you can call for anything you might need to ask or be clear about.

If you want to cut the chase, check with the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy to prove an online drugstore’s legitimacy. Look for a Verified Internet Pharmacy Practice Sites certification which indicates that its physical site has been inspected by a team of experts and the business has complied with VIPPS requirements and standards. You’ll want to be extra careful on this, though, as bogus sites could easily copy the genuine ones’ certification seal and display it on their site. For added assurance, you can look for an approval from the store’s home state which can be very strict with business regulations.

Another major issue to check on is the presence of on-call pharmacists who can listen and give answers you when you need to ask questions about drugs you’re looking to buy. They should be able to offer reliable advice on things that you may be unsure of regarding your drug purchase.

Once you’re sure that the online drugstore you plan to purchase from isn’t bogus, you’ll next want to look if the site is encrypted, meaning, protected from hackers. Since you’ll probably be paying with your credit card, you’ll want to make sure that nobody steals your information, specifically your username and password. A site that has a small image of a padlock on a corner of your browser will indicate that the site is secure.

When drugs expire, they break down into components that may harbor growth of viruses and other potentially harmful microorganisms. To avoid health risks posed by expired or counterfeit drugs, make sure you buy your medicines only from authorized dealers, online or off.

Pet Medications Online

Sunday Jan 31, 2010

Pets are loyal companions and owners want to give them the very best. In America, pet health services are one of the fastest growing and profitable businesses. Medication and other supplies traditionally available only at the veterinarian or at pharmacies are now accessible through online pet pharmacies. These pet pharmacies offer wide-ranging drugs, flea powders and creams, supplements, and more. Many of them also offer discounts and free gifts, enticing owners to buy from them.

Buying medicines from an online shop is easy and convenient, but there are some precautions that you need to take. Get your pet a thorough check-up, and buy medicines only on the vet?s advice before you go shopping online. Some of the best reputed online stores take prescriptions directly from the vet, and pet owners benefit because the correct medicine and dosage is assured.

Over the Internet, buy only those medicines that have to be used long-term or are therapeutic. These would include drugs for chronic illnesses, grooming and flea powders, supplements, etc. Avoid buying drugs needed urgently as it takes a while to be delivered, and it would cruel to make a pet suffer while waiting for it to arrive.

Compare prices before medicines are bought online. Ask your vet about its retail price and then check online. Though the online costs could be lower, added shipping and other costs, such as refrigeration, could make the drug more expensive. Before you order, make sure all the costs are added up and the final total is given.

Some online companies offer free delivery on orders above a certain amount, but these would not include refrigeration costs. Buying bulk drugs online could work out to be cheaper. Medicines for chronic problems, vaccinations kits, grooming and flea powders, and other such products needed regularly could be bought cheaper online.

Quality is sometimes an issue with online stores. Ask around about the reputation of the online pharmacy before ordering. This would give you an idea about the quality of drugs available, delivery schedules, etc. The online pharmacy should have a license to sell medicines. When you are looking through the list of drugs, supplements, and powders, make sure these are USDA or FDA-approved.

Online web sites and stores like Pet Advisor (www.petadvisor.org), Discount Pet Medicines (www.discountpetmedicines.com), and 1800 Petmeds (www.1800petmeds.com) could help you get quality medicines online, helping you to take better care of pet by eliminating some of the financial burden.

Issues About Buying Pain Pills Online

Saturday Jan 30, 2010

We’ve heard about all the great benefits when buy tramadol online: best prices, fast FedEx delivery the following day, and easy-prescription approval (if any at all). But with this great convenience is some risk of a possible disaster and catastrophe. So how do we avoid these risks, yet keep the benefits associated with online pharmacies?

Quality pain reliever – tramadol online

Since there are many online pharmacies based abroad, there are some levels of conflict of rules applied in production environment and value. The FDA, for example, usually in possession of a high standard on how pain pills are produced, developed and manufactured. The same pain pills in a country of the third world, however, may have much less respect for rules.

As far as quality goes, the resulting product may be of lesser quality. Tramadol as is used as a pain killer, this might be a poor spectacle for buyers. But the purchase of a reputation online source foreign possible can help remedy this disaster.

Risks game with tramadol prescriptions

Another popular fashion among some online pharmacies is gaming customers. Since the laws in foreign countries are different, is almost next to impossible to actually take a person to court over a trivial issue of drugs and turn a profit from the ordeal. For this reason, we recommend that consumers make sure that an online pharmacy is regular and has been running for a couple of years before buying from them.

Some other online pharmacies can also steal financial information from customers and not be a real pharmacy at all. In this case, the best defence is to verify a pharmacy through various means. The best proof to verify the success and reliable online pharmacy is to check their contact information. If they have a real address and telephone number, it’s usually an indicator that they are legitimate (although exceptions are always present).

Possible legal issues when purchasing tramadol online

The Food and Drug Administration, or FDA, says it’s illegal for citizens of the United States to buy tramadol without a prescription. To work around this problem, customers must obtain a prescription from a pharmacy online. This usually makes for a telephone or e-mail interview with a real pharmacist, in which case the client will receive the drug up conferences of success.

But some online pharmacies take surveys or use pharmacists who are not licensed. If this is the case, buyers may be legal problems because technically they buy prescription drugs without a proper prescription. Customers can avoid this catastrophe in the same manner as they may ignore the rest of the problems-ask around and see what online pharmacies is the most reliable. Even doing research on the Internet to see which pharmacies online is the best reputation, but still offers the best prices and shipping methods.

Final thoughts on the risks associated with purchasing tramadol online

Tramadol requirements are truly a blessing when they can be purchased online and delivered to your doorstep the next day via FedEx the days following the shipment. Customers often find that the savings in purchases on-line can be seen as a free prescription since in reality is so easy to obtain and costs less money in this way.

But, as stated above, can’t be stressed enough that Tramadol should be taken with caution and only with a prescription. Be sure to verify an online pharmacy’s reputation before buying from them. And if all fails, there is always the doctor’s office visit!

Pet Pharmacy Secrets – "Free" Shipping

Friday Jan 15, 2010

We live in a world of medical miracles. Modern science has discovered and developed various chemical compounds known as medicine to help with various physical ailments for animals as well as humans. Yet medicine is very expensive, not only for you, but for your pets as well! You want to take care of your furry loved ones by providing them with the medications recommended by your veterinarian, but they’re so darn costly! A quick look on the internet reveals many “bargains” on your pet’s prescription and non-prescription medication. Please beware that not all online pharmacies are the same! This article reveals one of the secrets many of the online pet pharmacies that they don’t want you to know!

Free shipping is an interesting differentiator between the pharmacies. Most pet pharmacies offer this perk if you purchase a certain amount of product. It is imperative that you compare the no-cost shipping thresholds of each pharmacy. It could be cheaper to use a pharmacy that has slightly higher priced meds but free shipping for your order. Generally speaking, the more expensive pet pharmacies have a lower threshold for no-cost shipping, where you may qualify with the purchase of just one item. Many of the less expensive online pet stores have a fairly high threshold for the same benefit.

If you compare 9-10 online pet pharmacies, you will see a vast difference in price for the exact same product! Don’t go on price of the product alone! Adding the cost of shipping to the price of the product gives you a true cost of the order. By doing this exercise, you may be surprised to find that the “cheapest” pharmacy at first glance isn’t the cheapest at all!

Pharmacy Technician Continuing Education

Thursday Jan 14, 2010

Although currently only a minority of states actually require pharmacy technician continuing education, more and more states have been adding this requirement. Regardless of state requirements, any pharmacy technician that is certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) needs to complete 20 hours of continuing education every two years in order to get recertified. There are many options available for pharmacy technicians to complete their continuing education requirements.

The National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA) has accredited continuing education programs for pharmacy technicians available in a variety of different formats including online options, in print options, in person options, and recorded options. These pharmacy technician continuing education programs have been accredited by the Accreditation Council on Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Once you have selected one of the pharmacy technician CE options available, you either read or watch the course material, and then you return to the website to take the course test. You need to score at least 70% in order to get credit for the course. If you receive a passing score you can print your certificate showing you have completed that pharmacy tech continuing education course. If you do not receive a high enough score to pass the course the first time, you can go over the materials again and try the test once more at no additional cost.

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) also has pharmacy tech CE courses available. They can be taken through online courses, reading printed matter, or podcasts. Like the pharmacy technician continuing education courses of the NPTA, once you have finished studying the material you must take a test and get a passing score in order to get the continuing education credits.

Other organizations the provide pharmacy technician CE courses include JER Group, Inc. (through online workshops), American College of Clinical Pharmacy, Baxter Healthcare Corporation, The California Pharmacists Association, Drug Information Association, Drug Store News, DrugTopics.com, Free CE, George Washington University Medical Center, The Iowa Pharmacists Association, MediCom Worldwide, Inc., Medscape.com, the Meniscus Educational Institute, National Community Pharmacists Association, Oregon State Pharmacists Association, PharmaCE, Pharmacy Connects, Pharmacy Times, Power-Pak C.E., Professional CEU, P*ceutics Institute, QuickTestPrep.com, RxSchool, RxSuccess Pharmacy Technician Training Programs, RXTechSchool.com, Serono Symposia USA, State University of New York at Buffalo, Temple University School of Pharmacy, U.S. Pharmacist, and the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education.

With all the options available for pharmacy technician continuing education it shouldn’t be a problem for pharmacy techs to find courses of interest to them that they can take in order to complete their continuing education requirements. Louis Zhang, Certpharmacytechnician dot com
